Since its foundation in 1965, Edelweiss has focused on making textile production more sustainable, becoming a pioneer<\/strong> in producing yarns regenerated from textile waste<\/strong>, both pre and post-consumer.<\/p>\n

The production of regenerated yarns serves a dual environmental purpose: on one hand, it contributes to waste reduction<\/strong>, which has exponentially increased in recent decades; on the other hand, it avoids the consumption of resources<\/strong> associated with the production of virgin raw materials such as cotton; a process that involves significant water and chemical usage for its growth.<\/p>\n

Attention to environmental sustainability and minimizing the impact of its activities on the environment has always guided and continues to influence every action of the company, from production processes to sourcing energy sources. This commitment is also confirmed by external certifications obtained in compliance with strict requirements and ethical codes.<\/p>\n

The company produces Open-End and Dref yarns, both single and twisted, using textile waste as raw material and bringing it back into fibre state, ready to be spun again, woven, and transformed into garments. This circular <\/strong>process<\/strong> ideally mirrors an ecosystem, where what has served its purpose becomes the starting point for a new life.<\/p>\n

Thanks to nearly 60 years of experience in the industry, Edelweiss is one of the few regenerated fibre spinning mills capable of creating coloured yarns <\/strong>simply by developing the right mix of pre-dyed fibres, thus completely avoiding the strong ecological impact associated with dyeing<\/strong>. This snow-white flower, which grows on rocky and hostile terrain at high altitudes, is a very resilient plant, constantly subjected to temperature fluctuations and harsh climatic conditions. It withstands the long winter frosts of the Alps, as well as strong exposure to sunlight and ultraviolet rays.
